Heat a pan.
Dry roast the ground nuts and grind it into a very coarse powder.
In the same pan, add oil.
When it is hot enough, add mustard seeds.
When mustard seeds splutter, add asafoetida, curry leaves and rava or sooji.
Fry it by mixing continuously, till the rava slightly changes the color and becomes more aromatic.
Meanwhile, in a vessel, pour 4 cups of water and bring it to boil.
Pour the hot water onto the rava carefully.
Immediately, add salt and coarse ground nuts and mix it well making sure no lumps are formed.
Cook, till it gets the consistency of regular uppuma.
Once cooked, switch off the flame and close the lid of the pan and leave it for couple of minutes.
Garnish with the chosen/available items.
:- Serve it in any desired shape.
:- This uppuma is highly nutritious and tasty.
