Paal Paayasam

Paayasam made with rice and milk

Ingredients
  

  • 1/4 cup Nellukuthari/Unakkalari
  • 4 cups Milk you can reduce to 3 cups for thick consistency
  • 1 cups Sugar
  • 5 nos Cardamom ground, Elakka

For garnishing:

  • Cashews As reqd
  • Raisins As reqd, Onakka munthiri
  • Ghee for frying

Instructions
 

  • Mix together all the ingredients in a pressure cooker.
  • Cook on a high flame till the first whistle.
  • Soon after the first whistle is heard, lower the fire and cook for half an hour.
  • Fry cashews and raisins in ghee.
  • Garnish the paayasam with the fried cashews and raisins.
  • :- Serve hot or chilled.
