Nellikka Chammandhi

Ingredients
  

  • 10 nos Ripe gooseberries Nellikka
  • 2 nos Green chillies
  • 1/2 " Ginger
  • 4 nos Red onions Kunjulli
  • Salt As reqd
  • 1 cup Coconut grated

For seasoning:

  • 1 tsp Coconut oil
  • Mustard seeds A pinch
  • 1 stalk Curry leaves

Instructions
 

  • For preparing Nellikka Chammandhi, first wash the gooseberries, remove the seeds and cut into small pieces. Cook the chopped gooseberries in little water.
  • Chop green chillies, ginger and red onions also into small pieces.
  • Mix the cooked gooseberries with all the other ingredients, add required salt and grind without any water to a smooth paste.
  • Heat oil in a kadai or a pan.
  • Add mustard seeds and when they splutter, add curry leaves.
  • Remove from fire and add it to the ground paste.
  • Nellikka Chammandhi, a spicy, nutritious side dish is ready that goes well with a variety of dishes.
