Cauliflower Curry - Spicy

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 kg Cauliflower
  • 2 tsp Oil
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1/4 tsp Black gram Uzhunnuparippu
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 6 tsp Green gram Cheruparippu
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 no Dry red chilly Kollamulaku
  • 2 tsp Grated coconut optional

Instructions
 

  • Cut cauliflower into small flowerets.
  • Put these pieces in boiling water by adding 1/4 tsp salt, turmeric powder, dry red chilly and leave it covered for 5 min.
  • Remove the cauliflowers which float on top to a separate vessel to ensure that the rest of the flowerets are clean.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. When they pop, add black gram. When it`s roasted, add the washed cauliflower.
  • Add green gram, 1/4 tsp salt, 2 tbsp of water and cook it covered in low heat, stirring occasionally to see if it is fully cooked and soft.
  • Finally, add grated coconut if required.
