Cut cauliflower into small flowerets.
Put these pieces in boiling water by adding 1/4 tsp salt, turmeric powder, dry red chilly and leave it covered for 5 min.
Remove the cauliflowers which float on top to a separate vessel to ensure that the rest of the flowerets are clean.
Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. When they pop, add black gram. When it`s roasted, add the washed cauliflower.
Add green gram, 1/4 tsp salt, 2 tbsp of water and cook it covered in low heat, stirring occasionally to see if it is fully cooked and soft.
Finally, add grated coconut if required.
