Besan Laddu

Ingredients
  

  • 3 Cups Besan (Kadalamaavu)
  • 200 g Ghee
  • 300 g Sugar
  • 25 g Dry Grapes(optional)
  • 50 g Cashew-nuts 
  • 5-6 nos. Cardamom 

Instructions
 

  • Grind Sugar along with peeled cardamom in a mixer(without water) and keep this powder separately.

  • Cut 30g cashew-nuts into small pieces and keep it separately.

  • Heat some ghee in a large sized cheenachatti/kadai and add the besan into this hot ghee and stir it well continuously. 
  • After about 15 – 20 minutes, ghee will start to separate from the besan but stir the mix continuously till colour of besan turns into golden brown and make a dough for making Laddu(s)
  • If necessary, add some more ghee to the dough, stir it well and cool it for some time. Then add cashew nut pieces and dry grapes (if necessary) and stir it further.
  • Add required quantity of the powder made with sugar and cardamom into this dough (if necessary add some more ghee to make laddu more tasty) and stir it well and keep it for some more time to cool.

  • After about 15 – 20 minutes, make small balls (at required size) with this dough. Garnish the Laddus with cashew-nuts and grapes. Besan(Kadalamaavu ) Laddu is ready.
