Soak rice for 2 hours . You can use any rice.
After two hours drain and grind in mixer grind as fine batter with 1/2 cup of water.
In a pan add oil and temper with mustard seeds and channa dal.
Now add chopped onion, chopped green chilli and curry leaves. Saute well with salt.
Now add previously ground rice batter and mix gently.
Once water absorbs, turn to low flame and mix well. Cook for 5 more minutes.
After the mixture is cooked well, turn heat off and allow to cool for five minutes to prepare dumplings.
Now make small size balls. Keep this aside.
Prepare dumplings with the remaining rice batter.
Steam the balls in a steamer for 5 minutes and turn off the flame after its done.
