  • Soak rice for 2 hours . You can use any rice.
  • After two hours drain and grind in mixer grind as fine batter with 1/2 cup of water.
  • In a pan add oil and temper with mustard seeds and channa dal.
  • Now add chopped onion, chopped green chilli and curry leaves. Saute well with salt.
  • Now add previously ground rice batter and mix gently.
  • Once water absorbs, turn to low flame and mix well. Cook for 5 more minutes.
  • After the mixture is cooked well, turn heat off and allow to cool for five minutes to prepare dumplings.
  • Now make small size balls. Keep this aside.
  • Prepare dumplings with the remaining rice batter.
  • Steam the balls in a steamer for 5 minutes and turn off the flame after its done.
  • Now it's ready to serve Kara Kozhukattai
