First soak Seeraga Samba Rice (2 1/2 cups) in sufficient water for 30 minutes. Slice the onion and green chillies. Keep this aside.
In a pan add 1/2 tsp oil and add green chilli and onion. Saute well.
Now add both mint and coriander leaves and saute well. Allow to cool.
In a cooker or heavy weight pan, add oil and temper all whole spices.
Now add ginger garlic paste and saute well.
Next add tomato, pepper and turmeric powder and mix well.
Now add chicken pieces and add salt as required. Mix well and cook for five mins till raw smell goes.
Next add curd and cook for 2 mins till oil comes out.
In the mean time grind the green ingredients and make a fine paste.
Now add the green masala and cook for 5 mins.
Add hot water (5 cups) and bring to boil. Add soaked rice of seeraga sambha.
Now cook till water drains in low flame for about 20 minutes or so until the biriyani is done. Close the vessel with a tight lid so steam cannot escape.
Now when the dish is almost ready, add ghee and mix gently.
Next, take the donne and keep in plate to serve.
