For preparing the tasty dish, first cut the yam into very small pieces and wash well.
Pour coconut milk, salt and cook till the entire milk is absorbed and yam pieces are cooked well.
If yam is not properly cooked, add little water and cook again. Do not overcook the yam.
Heat oil in a pan, add chopped shallots and saute until light brown in colour. Yam should be crispy and should not stick to one another.
Then add curry leaves and saute for few seconds.
Add all powders and saute for 2-3 minutes in low flame. Make sure that powders do not get burnt.
Add cooked yam and combine well. Cook for another 2 minutes and remove it from the flame.
