Curry Leaves Shallots Chutney is a healthy and a tasty side dish for idly, dosa varities. Curry Leaves and Shallots makes an amazing combination. Curry Leaves has lots of health benefits. Normally, kids and even adults wont love to eat it when it is in curry or sambar. This is one of the method to make them eat it.

  • 1 cup Small Onion
  • 3/4 cup Coconut
  • 1 full Curry leaves
  • Tamarind Small gooseberry size
  • 4 tsp Oil
  • 1 tsp Mustard
  • 2 tsp Urad dhal
  • 1 tsp Hing
  • Salt to taste


  • In a pan add oil and when it is hot add mustard seeds. Then add urad dal, hing and fry till it is roasted. Then keep it aside.
  • Then in the same oil, add shallots, green chilly and cook till onion becomes slight brown in colour. Keep it aside.
  • Then roast curry leaves. Keep it aside
  • Then roast the coconut and keep it aside.
  • Then finally, add tamarind and just give stir for 2 minutes.
  • Then grind it all together. Tasty Chutney is ready.
