Crab Fry / Varuval

Ingredients
  

  • Crab 1/2 kg
  • shallots/ small onion 1 cup
  • tomato 1 no.
  • curry leaves 2 sprinkle
  • ginger garlic paste 2 tsp
  • black pepper seed 1 tsp
  • fennel seed 1/2 tsp
  • cinnamon small pieces
  • clove 4 no.
  • cardamom 2 no.
  • red chili powder 2 tsp
  • coriander paste 2 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • turmeric powder 1 tsp
  • coconut paste 1/4 cup

Instructions
 

  • Clean the crab and mix with turmeric powder
  • chop the onion, tomato
  • make a paste with clove, cinnamon, cardamom, fennel seed, black pepper seed, and ginger garlic paste
  • in a kadai heat the oil and saute the onion and curry leaves until the onion turns into golden brown
  • add tomato and mix it
  • add the ginger garlic paste and mix it
  • add red chili powder, corainder paste, and salt and mix it
  • add crab, mix it and allow to cook for 10 mins
  • now add coconut paste and required water mix it and allow to cook until the crab get cooked and the masala get dry
  • now crab fry / varuval is ready to serve
