Mutton Pepper Gravy

Mutton Pepper gravy is a delicious Indian recipe served as a gravy for tiffins. it gives good combination with puri. mutton lovers will have this recipe with puri. the taste, colour and texture of this recipe is good.

  • mutton 1/2 kg
  • onion 2 no.
  • tomato 1 no.
  • cardamom 1 no.
  • clove 2 no.
  • cinnamon small piece
  • fennel seed 1/2 tsp
  • curry leaves 6 no.
  • ginger garlic paste 4 tsp
  • red chili powder 1 tsp
  • turmeric powder 1 tsp
  • coriander powder 2 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper 2 tsp
  • coriander leaves to garnish
  • oil 4 tsp
  • ghee 2 tsp


  • chop the onion and tomato
  • heat the oil and ghee in the pan
  • temper the cinnamon, cardamom, clove, and fennel seed
  • saute the onion and curry leaves for 3 mins until the onion changes the colour
  • add ginger garlic paste and mix well and allow to cook until the raw smell goes out
  • add red chili powder, turmeric pwoder and coriander powder and mix well
  • add one glass of water and cook the masala for 3 mins
  • add tomato and mix it
  • add mutton, salt and pepper and mix well
  • allow to cook for 5 mins in medium flame
  • now add required water to for the gravy
  • allow to cook until the mutton get cooked and gravy becomes thick,
  • now mutton pepper gravy is ready , serve with puri, roti and idly
