Green Gram Puttu

this nutritive dish will be kids favourite . for those children who fuss to eat protien rich green gram ,this dish will be a sure remedy

Ingredients
  

  • green gram 1 cup
  • jaggery 1cup
  • grated coconut 1 cup
  • cardamom powder 1/4 spoon
  • salt a pinch

Instructions
 

  • soak green gram in water over night
  • in the morning grind the soaked green gram in mixie adding a pinch of salt . let the batter be like a dosa batter
  • now steam the batter like idlies in idly plates for 15 minutes (medium flame)
  • let the steamed idlies cool down
  • after it cools break it and shred it finely
  • to it add the grated coconut
  • also add cardamom powder
  • to it add the thick jaggery syrup and mix well ..now our green gram puttu is ready
  • jaggery syrup can be prepared by heating a cup of jaggery with little water
  • when the jaggery dissolves completely strain it and add to the puttu

Notes

if you cant shred the idlies in hand you can just divide it 3 or 4 pieces and run it in a mixie to give a good texture of puttu
