- For preparing special kerala fish curry, grind the grated coconut, chilly powder, turmeric powder & 1 shallot to a paste by adding water. Keep it aside. 
- Clean and soak the gambooge in salt water for 5 minutes. 
- Heat coconut oil in a heavy pan or meen chatty. 
- Splutter the mustard seeds. 
- Add fenugreek seeds, remaining shallots, green chillies and ginger paste. Saute well. 
- Then add the ground coconut paste, soaked gambooge and salt. Saute well for 3 minutes. 
- Pour a little water if the gravy is too thick. Allow it to boil for 5 minutes. 
- Toss in the fish pieces and curry leaves. Close the lid and allow the fish to cook on low flame till done. 
- Drizzle a little coconut oil. 
- Special kerala fish curry is ready. Serve hot with Kerala rice.
