Cook the potato in water and salt as required. Mash it thoroughly and keep it aside.

Heat oil and sauté onion in it.

Add green chilly, salt, turmeric powder, ginger and mix well.

Mix in the mashed potatoes with the above mixture well.

Take it from flame and let it cool for some time.
Make small balls out of the mixture.
Mix gram flour with water and salt as required making a thick batter.
Cover the potato balls in it.
Fry it in oil 3-4 at a time.
Serve it.
