Special Crab Masala

A spicy crab masala

Ingredients
  

  • 6 nos Crab
  • 2 nos Onion finely chopped, large
  • 1 no Tomato
  • 1 cup Coconut grated
  • 1 tbsp Coriander seeds
  • ½ tsp Turmeric powder
  • 2 tsp Chilli powder
  • 1 tsp Ginger garlic paste
  • 4 nos Cloves
  • 3 nos Cardamom
  • 3 small Cinnamon
  • 3 nos Bay leaves
  • 2 tsp Fennel seeds
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • Salt As reqd
  • Coriander leaves for garnishing

Instructions
 

  • Clean and wash the crabs. For cleaning the crab, first plug the legs and cut into 2 pieces of large legs.Now open the shell and clean inside of the crab.
  • Cut the cleaned crab into 2 pieces.
  • Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan. Add cinnamon, cardamom. cloves and bay leaves and fry for few seconds.
  • Add grated coconut and stir for 2 minutes.
  • Add coriander seeds, fennel seeds and fry combined with all the ingredients.
  • Grind the above with some water.
  • Heat oil in a kadai. Add chopped onion and saute till it turns light golden colour.
  • Add ginger-garlic paste. Saute well.
  • Add the chopped tomatoes and mix well.
  • Add chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt.
  • Add the crab and stir well for 1 minute.
  • Add the masala paste and mix well.
  • Pour enough water to cook.
  • Cover and cook on full flame for 1 minute. Stir and cook for 15 - 20 minutes on low flame.
  • When done, transfer the contents to a serving bowl.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
