Elavan Curry

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 pc 1) Ash gourd
  • 1 tsp 2) Chilly powder
  • 1/4 tsp 3) Turmeric powder
  • 4) Salt to taste
  • 1 5) Shallots
  • 1/2 tsp 6) Sweet cumin
  • 7) Tamarind water of a lemon sized tamarind
  • 1/2 pc 8) Coconut

Instructions
 

  • Grind shallots and sweet cumin.
  • mix ash gourd, chilly powder, salt, turmeric powder and ash gourd together in a
  • vessel. Add enough water and boil.
  • Add curry leaves and mix.
  • Grind the coconut with a pinch of turmeric powder.
  • Mix the grinded coconut and shallots with the boiling curry once the ash gourd gets
  • well cooked.
  • Boil for 3-5 minutes more.
  • Serve it with rice.
