For preparing semiya uppuma, first roast semiya in ghee or coconut oil until golden in color. Keep aside to cool.
In a fry pan(cheenachatti), heat oil and fry chopped onion, carrot pieces, green chillies, ginger and curry leaves.
When the colour of above ingredients turn golden, add required water and salt and allow to boil for a few minutes.
After this mix boil well, add the fried semiya into this and mix well. If required, after cooking the uppuma, scraped coconut can be added.
Semiya uppuma is very easy to prepare and is also a very tasty breakfast dish. Can be served with banana or chutney or can eat without any side dish.
