Chicken Varuval Recipe

Chicken marinated in spices and fried with other ingredients.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 kg Chicken/Nadan Kozhi
  • 2 nos Onion chopped
  • 6 nos Green chillies
  • 10 nos Shallots chopped, kunjulli
  • 1 piece Ginger
  • 5 cloves Garlic
  • 1 tbsp Coriander powder
  • 1 tbsp Chicken masala
  • 2 tsp Chilly powder
  • 3 nos Dry red chillies
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 2 tsp Garam masala freshly crushed
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds Jeerakam
  • 10 nos Pepper corns
  • Salt As reqd
  • Curry leaves Few
  • 2 tbsp Coconut milk powder

Instructions
 

  • For preparing chicken varuval recipe, marinate chicken with coriander powder, salt, chilly powder, chicken masala and turmeric powder.
  • Keep for 1/2 hour.
  • Crush shallots, ginger, garlic, pepper corns and cumin seeds.
  • Heat kadai, pour coconut oil and fry onion and dry chillies.
  • When the color changes, add green chillies and the crushed mixture.
  • Simmer the flame and fry well. Add the marinated chicken in it and fry for 5 minutes.
  • Add curry leaves and little water. Cover and cook.
  • When its half done, add the coconut milk powder, cover and cook again.
  • When chicken is done, remove lid and fry it in low flame till water is evaporated and masala is coated well.
  • Chicken varuval recipe is ready.
