Sago - Coconut Halwa

Ingredients
  

  • 500 g Sago Chowwary
  • 1 cup Coconut grated
  • 500 g Sugar
  • 500 ml Ghee
  • 100 g Cashew nuts
  • 50 g Raisins Unakka munthiri
  • 500 ml Whole milk
  • 1 cup Condensed milk
  • 1 tsp Cardamom powder Elakka

Instructions
 

  • For preparing sago - coconut halwa, first boil sago/chowwary in two cups of water till the sago turns transparent. Drain water.
  • Add ghee to a deep bottomed pan, add the dry fruits and fry till brown. Add the grated coconut and fry till brown.
  • Add sugar and cook till all sugar melts. Add milk, boiled sago, cardamon powder and the condensed milk.
  • Mix thoroughly and simmer in low flame till all the ingredients are blended well with each other.
  • Transfer into a wide plate and serve hot. Sago - coconut halwa is ready.
