Wheat Athirasam

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Wheat flour
  • 300 ml Coconut oil
  • 3/4 cup Jaggery Sharkara
  • 1 tbsp Small coconut pieces
  • 1 tsp Sesame seeds Ellu
  • 2 tbsp Ghee
  • 1/2 tsp Cardamom powder Elakka
  • 1/2 tsp Dried ginger powder Chukku

Instructions
 

  • For preparing wheat athirasam, add 3/4 cup of water to the jaggery.
  • Boil this solution and lowering flame add all the other ingredients except coconut oil and stir well.
  • After 3-5 minutes, remove from the fire. Close with a lid and keep aside.
  • On cooling knead the dough well and make balls having the size of a large gooseberry.
  • Flatten the ball into small circles on a plastic sheet/banana leaf.
  • Fry these in coconut oil.
  • Wheat athirasam is ready.
