Diabetic Idly
Different types of grains are soaked and ground to a fine paste

- 1/2 cup Ragi
- 1/2 cup Wheat
- 1/2 cup Split black gram Uzhunnu Parippu
- 1/2 cup Green Gram Cheru payar
- 1/2 cup Yellow lentils Thuvara Parippu
- 3 nos Red chillies
- 2 nos Green chillies
- 1 spring Curry leaves
- 1/2 tsp Asafoetida powder Kaayam
- Salt As reqd
For preparing diabetic idly, immerse the grains in water for about 3 hours and make a coarse batter adding chillies, salt and asafoetida.
Ferment for about 3-4 hours, add curry leaves and make idly¦s.
Diabetic idly¦s are ready.
Note:
1)Keep the remaining batter in the refrigerator after 3-4 hours to avoid more fermentation.
