Dal Subzi

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Moong Dal Split
  • 1 no Onion chopped
  • 2 tsp Carrot chopped
  • 1 no Beans sliced
  • 1 sprig Curry leaves
  • 4 slices Ginger
  • 2 nos Green chillies slit
  • Coriander leaves To garnish
  • Oil As reqd
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • Salt As reqd
  • Ghee As reqd
  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds Jeerakam
  • Lemon juice juice of 1/4 lemon

Instructions
 

  • Heat 2 tsp of ghee in a pan.
  • Fry moong dal for 3-5 minutes.
  • Pressure cook moong dal with enough water, turmeric powder, carrot, beans, curry leaves and ginger.
  • Add oil in a pan and once hot add mustard seeds.
  • Once it splutters add cumin seeds and once it crackles add curry leaves.
  • Add finely chopped onions and saute until raw smell goes off.
  • To this add cooked moong dal and add salt to taste.
  • Simmer for 5-10 minutes. Add water as per required consistency.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and squeeze in lemon at the end.
