Ingredients
- Moong dal(Split) - 1 cup
- Onion(chopped) - 1 no
- Carrot(chopped) - 2 tsp
- Beans(sliced) - 1 no
- Curry leaves - 1 sprig
- Ginger - 4 slices
- Green chillies(slit) - 2 nos
- Coriander leaves(To garnish) -
- Oil(As reqd) -
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
- Salt(As reqd) -
- Ghee(As reqd) -
- Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
- Cumin seeds(Jeerakam) - 1 tsp
- Lemon juice(juice of 1/4 lemon) -

Instructions
- Heat 2 tsp of ghee in a pan.
- Fry moong dal for 3-5 minutes.
- Pressure cook moong dal with enough water, turmeric powder, carrot, beans, curry leaves and ginger.
- Add oil in a pan and once hot add mustard seeds.
- Once it splutters add cumin seeds and once it crackles add curry leaves.
- Add finely chopped onions and saute until raw smell goes off.
- To this add cooked moong dal and add salt to taste.
- Simmer for 5-10 minutes. Add water as per required consistency.
- Garnish with coriander leaves and squeeze in lemon at the end.
