Tomatillo Chemmeen Curry

Ingredients
  

  • 150 g Tomatillo chopped, resembles green tomato
  • Dried prawns A handful
  • 3 nos Green Chillies chopped
  • 4 nos Shallots Kunjulli
  • 1/2 cup Coconut grated
  • 1 tsp Chilly powder
  • 1/2 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • Mustard seeds Few
  • 2 nos Dry red chillies
  • Salt As reqd
  • Oil As reqd

Instructions
 

  • For preparing tomatillo chemmeen curry, first dry roast dried prawns and cook it with water, enough salt, green chilly and turmeric powder.
  • When it is cooked, add chopped tomatillo and cook in low flame until done.
  • Meanwhile, grind coconut with chilly powder and coriander powder. Add this to the cooked tomatillo and heat the curry. Do not boil.
  • Heat oil in a kadai, splutter mustard seeds, add dry red chillies and shallots. Saute well and then pour this to the curry. Serve hot.
