Capsicum Paruppu Usili
An interesting variation with all time favorite capsicum

- 3 nos Capsicum cut into small pieces
- 1 cup Toor Dhal Tuvara parippu
- 4-5 nos Red chillies
- Asafoetida powder As per taste, Kayam
- 1 sprig Curry leaves
- 1 tsp Mustard seeds
- 1 tsp Urad dhal Uzhunnu parippu
- Salt As reqd
For preparing capsicum paruppu usili, first soak toor dhal in enough water for 30 minutes. Drain and keep aside.
Cut capsicum into small cubes.
Grind the drained toor dhal coarsely(not finely) along with red chillies and asafoetida powder.
Heat oil in a pan. Once hot, add mustard seeds and once it splutters add urad dhal and curry leaves.
To this, add capsicum and salt. and saute for a while. When half done, add the ground toor dhal to this and simmer for 8-10 minutes.
Enjoy with steamed rice or as an accompaniment to rasam.
