Gherkins-Ivy Gourd Foogath

Ingredients
  

  • 300 g Gherkins chopped, Kovakka
  • 2 nos Green chillies slit
  • 1 no Onion chopped finely
  • 4 tbsp Coconut grated
  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  • Curry leaves A few
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • Salt As reqd

Instructions
 

  • For preparing gherkins/ivy gourd foogath, heat oil in a deep frying pan.
  • Splutter mustard seeds.
  • Then add curry leaves, gherkins, onion, green chilies, turmeric powder, grated coconut, salt and water. Mix it.
  • Allow it to cook on low flame for 5 minutes till the water evaporates.
  • Gherkins/ivy gourd foogath is ready. Serve as a side dish with rice.
