Goan Prawn Curry

Marinated prawns are cooked in coconut gravy

Ingredients
  

  • 300 g Prawns
  • 1 no Coconut grated
  • 1 tbsp Coriander powder
  • 1 tbsp Chilly powder
  • 1 pinch Cumin seeds Jeerakam
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper powder
  • 4 slices Cocum Kudam puli
  • 1 piece Ginger
  • 1 clove Garlic
  • 1 nos Onion finely sliced
  • 4 nos Green chillies
  • Salt As reqd
  • 2 tbsp Coconut oil
  • 1 no Lemon juice
  • 1 no Tomato chopped

Instructions
 

  • For preparing goan pawn curry, clean the prawns and remove the head.
  • Marinate the prawns with salt and lemon juice. Keep it aside.
  • Grind coconut, coriander powder, chilly powder, cumin seeds, pepper powder, ginger, garlic and cocum.(cocum must be mixed in water and this water is used while grinding).
  • Fry onion and green chillies in coconut oil.
  • Pour the ground paste in the sauteed onion.
  • Add salt and boil it.
  • When it boils add the prawns and tomato. Cook it in low flame for 8 minutes.
  • Goan prawn curry is ready. Serve hot with rice, bread etc.
