Thengai Podi - Brahmin Special

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 cup Coconut grated
  • 4 tbsp Urad dal
  • 8 nos Red chillies
  • Tamarind About 3/4 size of lemon
  • 1 pinch Asafoetida Kayam
  • 1 tsp Jaggery powder Sharkara
  • 3 tbsp Coconut oil
  • Salt As reqd

Instructions
 

  • For preparing thengai podi - brahmin special, first fry urad dal and red chillies for a few minutes in coconut oil.
  • Fry grated coconut separately in coconut oil till it becomes brown in color.
  • Grind the 1st and 2nd step together by adding tamarind, powdered jaggery, salt and asafoetida.
  • After grinding, mix it well.
  • Thengai podi - brahmin special recipe is ready. Can be used as side dish with dosa, curd rice etc.
