Tamarind - Puli Thogyal - Brahmin Special

Ingredients
  

  • 4 tbsp Urad dal/Ulundu paruppu
  • 6 nos Red chillies
  • Tamarind A pinch
  • 1 cup Coconut grated
  • Asafoetida A pinch
  • 2 tsp Coconut oil
  • Salt As reqd

Instructions
 

  • For preparing tamarind / puli thogyal - brahmin special, roast urad dal and red chillies for few minutes in coconut oil.
  • Add grated coconut and tamarind to the roasted item and grind the mixture by sprinkling water in such a way that the mixture is in semisolid state.
  • Add salt and asafoetida. Tamarind / puli thogyal - brahmin special, is ready. This is used as a side dish while molaguttal kootan is prepared.
