Broken Wheat Upma - Diabetes Friendly
Broken wheat is cooked with onions, ginger, carrot cubes and other ingredients

- 1/4 cup Broken wheat
- 1/4 cup Onion chopped
- 1 no Green chilly chopped
- 1/4 tsp Ginger grated
- 1/4 cup Green peas
- 1/4 cup Carrot chopped
- 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
- Oil As reqd
- Salt As reqd
For garnishing:
- 1 tbsp Coriander leaves chopped
Clean and wash the broken wheat thoroughly. Drain and keep aside.
Heat oil in a pressure cooker. Splutter mustard seeds.
When they crackle, add the onions, green chilly and ginger. SautT till the onions turn translucent.
Add the green peas, carrots, broken wheat and salt. SautT for 3 to 4 minutes.
Add 1 1/2 cup of water and pressure cook for 1 whistle.
Garnish with the coriander and serve hot.
