Broken Wheat Upma - Diabetes Friendly

Broken wheat is cooked with onions, ginger, carrot cubes and other ingredients

For garnishing:

  • 1 tbsp Coriander leaves chopped


  • Clean and wash the broken wheat thoroughly. Drain and keep aside.
  • Heat oil in a pressure cooker. Splutter mustard seeds.
  • When they crackle, add the onions, green chilly and ginger. SautT till the onions turn translucent.
  • Add the green peas, carrots, broken wheat and salt. SautT for 3 to 4 minutes.
  • Add 1 1/2 cup of water and pressure cook for 1 whistle.
  • Garnish with the coriander and serve hot.
