Aloo Mutter | Potato Peas Curry

Ingredients
  

  • 2 nos. Potatoes(Small) Boiled
  • 2 nos. Tomatoes(Ground) Small
  • 1/4 cup Peas Boiled
  • 1 no. Onion
  • 2 nos. Green chillies
  • 1/2 inch Ginger
  • Turmeric powder A pinch
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1/4 tsp Cumin powder
  • 1 tsp Red chilly powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds Jeerakam
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Cream
  • 2 tbsp Coriander leaves Chopped
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • Salt As reqd

Instructions
 

  • First cube half of the potato and mash the other half. Keep this aside.
  • Make a fine paste with onion, ginger and green chillies.
  • Heat oil in a pan and splutter cumin seeds and mustard seeds. Add the ground onion paste and saute for a few minutes.
  • Now, add turmeric powder, cumin powder, ground tomato paste, red chilly powder, coriander powder, garam masala and salt. Mix well.
  • Add 1/2 cup of water and stir in boiled potatoes and peas. Cook covered for a few minutes. Turn the flame off. Add fresh cream and give a gentle stir.
  • Garnish with chopped coriander and serve aloo matar hot with roti/chappathy.
