- 2 nos. Potatoes(Small) Boiled
- 2 nos. Tomatoes(Ground) Small
- 1/4 cup Peas Boiled
- 1 no. Onion
- 2 nos. Green chillies
- 1/2 inch Ginger
- Turmeric powder A pinch
- 1 tsp Coriander powder
- 1/4 tsp Cumin powder
- 1 tsp Red chilly powder
- 1/2 tsp Garam masala
- 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds Jeerakam
- 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
- 1 tbsp Fresh Cream
- 2 tbsp Coriander leaves Chopped
- 1 tbsp Oil
- Salt As reqd
First cube half of the potato and mash the other half. Keep this aside.
Make a fine paste with onion, ginger and green chillies.
Heat oil in a pan and splutter cumin seeds and mustard seeds. Add the ground onion paste and saute for a few minutes.
Now, add turmeric powder, cumin powder, ground tomato paste, red chilly powder, coriander powder, garam masala and salt. Mix well.
Add 1/2 cup of water and stir in boiled potatoes and peas. Cook covered for a few minutes. Turn the flame off. Add fresh cream and give a gentle stir.
Garnish with chopped coriander and serve aloo matar hot with roti/chappathy.
