Mussels-Kakka Erachi In Coconut Fry

Mussels/teesari/thasai naargal/kakka erachi fry is prepared by cooking mussels with onion, ginger, meat masala, other ingredients and later stir frying

Ingredients
  

  • 250 g Mussels cleaned, washed and drained, Kakka erachi
  • 1/2 of Onion chopped
  • 1 cup Coconut grated
  • 1 no Green chilly chopped
  • Ginger chopped
  • Turmeric powder A pinch
  • 1/2 tsp Chilly powder
  • 1/2 tsp Meat masala
  • Garam masala powder A pinch
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper powder
  • 1 sprig Curry leaves
  • Salt As reqd
  • Oil As reqd

Instructions
 

  • First take a pan and stir in the ingredients: drained mussels, chilly powder, meat masala, garam masala, pepper powder, curry leaves and required salt. Mix well and add 1/4 cup of water.
  • Cover the pan with a lid and cook in low flame till mussels are done and water has evaporated completely.
  • In a bowl, Mix together grated coconut, green chillies, ginger, onion, turmeric powder and little salt. Mix well with hand.
  • Place another pan over fire and pour oil. Heat oil and stir in cooked mussels. Fry for a few minutes and add coconut mix.Stir for 5 minutes.
  • Delicious Mussels/kakka erachi fry is ready. Serve hot.
