Easy Bread Upma - For Kids
Crushed wheat bread slices are cooked with onion, peanuts, lemon juice and other ingredients to prepare easy bread upma, a yummy favorite with kids

- 6 slices Wheat bread
- 1/2 cup Carrot chopped
- 1/2 cup Beans chopped
- 1/2 cup Capsicum chopped
- 2 nos Green chilies chopped
- 1 no Onion chopped, medium
- 1 sprig Curry leaves
- 1/4 tsp Asafoetida powder Kayam
- 1/2 tsp Sugar
- Mustard seeds Few
- Turmeric powder A pinch
- 1 tbsp Peanuts
- 3/4 tsp Lemon juice
- 1 tbsp Coriander leaves chopped
- Oil As reqd
- Salt As reqd
First cut the bread slices into cubes.
Place a kadai over fire and heat oil. Splutter mustard seeds.
Add green chillies, chopped onion, chopped vegetables, curry leaves, asafoetida powder, turmeric powder and peanuts.
Stir in low flame till the onions and peanuts are light brown in color.
Add crumbled bread, sugar, required salt and lemon juice.
Mix well and cook in low flame for 5 minutes.
Garnish easy bread upma with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
