Hyderabadi Fish-Machhli Fry(Meen)

Fish pieces are marinated in a mixture of garlic paste, chilly powder, other ingredients and deep fried to a golden brown color

Ingredients
  

  • 250 g Fish slices washed and drained
  • 1 cup Basen
  • 1 tsp Poppy seeds
  • 1 tsp Garlic paste
  • 1 no Onion finely sliced
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp Chilly powder
  • Turmeric powder A pinch
  • 1 tsp Chat masala
  • Lemon juice A few drops
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • Salt As reqd

Instructions
 

  • Mix together garlic paste, coriander powder, chilly powder, poppy seeds, turmeric and salt to a smooth paste. Apply the mixture on the drained fish pieces and marinate for 30 minutes.
  • Heat oil in a pan and fry sliced onion till crisp. Keep this aside.
  • Dip the fish pieces in besan batter and Fry the fish pieces till crisp and golden brown in color.
  • Garnish with fried onions and lemon juice. 6)Hyderabadi fish/machhli fry is ready. Serve hot.
