Bengali Fish-Machhli Fry(Meen)

Ingredients
  

  • 250 g Fish cleaned and cut into medium sized pieces
  • Mustard oil As reqd
  • Turmeric powder A pinch
  • Salt As required
  • 1 cup Rava
  • 1 no Onion cut into circles
  • 1 tbsp Vinegar

To be ground:

  • 1 piece Ginger
  • 1/4 tsp Cumin seeds Jeerakam
  • 1 no Green chilly
  • 2 nos Garlic cloves
  • 1 no Red chilly

Instructions
 

  • For preparing Bengali fish fry, first grind the ingredients for grinding: ginger, cumin seeds, green chilly, garlic and dry red chilly to a smooth paste.
  • Mix salt and turmeric with the ground paste and rub it on the fish pieces. Marinate fish pieces for 15 minutes.
  • spread rava in a plate.Coat each marinated fish with rava.
  • Heat mustard oil in a pan and deep fry the fish pieces to a crispy golden brown color.
  • Dip onion rings in vinegar and keep aside.
  • Bengali fish fry, a yummy nutritious recipe, is ready. Serve hot with the onion rings on top.
