Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 of Cabbage chopped, small
  • 1 cup Green peas boiled
  • 1/2 cup Potato cut into cubes and boiled
  • 1/2 tbsp Jaggery crushed, Sharkara
  • 2 tbsp Chick pea split soaked in some water, Kadala parippu
  • 2 nos Green chilies chopped
  • Turmeric powder A pinch
  • 1/4 tsp Asafoetida Kayam
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 4 leaves Curry leaves – 3
  • 1 1/2 tbsp Coconut for garnishing, grated
  • 1 tbsp Coriander leaves for garnishing, chopped
  • Salt As reqd
  • 1 tbsp Oil

Instructions
 

  • For preparing Maharashtrian Kobichi Bhaji, first heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds.
  • Add green chillies, turmeric powder, asafoetida, curry leaves and soaked chick pea. Saute for 2 minutes.
  • Add chopped cabbage, boiled peas and potato, jaggery and required salt. Mix well.
  • Cook the cabbage with a covered lid in medium flame for 7 minutes. Stir in between.
  • Garnish with grated coconut and coriander leaves.
  • Typical Maharashtrian kobichi bhaji is ready. Serve hot with rotis.
