Makki Spinach Roti

Corn meal, grated radish and other ingredients are mixed together into a round lump and finally rolled out into rotis

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Corn meal Chola podi
  • 1 tbsp Palak finely chopped, spinach
  • 1 no Onion finely chopped
  • ¼ tsp Cumin powder
  • ¼ tsp Ginger finely chopped
  • Sugar A pinch
  • 1 no Green chilly chopped
  • 1 tsp Oil
  • Ghee As required
  • Salt to taste

Instructions
 

  • For preparing makki spinach roti, mix corn meal with other ingredients: palak,salt, onion, cumin powder and ginger adding lightly hot water.
  • Make a dough like chapathy. Keep aside for 10 minutes.
  • Make small balls out of the dough and spread into small rotis smearing oil using a roller pin.
  • Cook the rotis both sides in a hot tawa sprinkiling some ghee till crispy.
  • Makki spinach roti, a helathy and nutritious evening time snacks for kids as well as elders is ready. Serve hot with some pickle.
