Spinach-Palak Paneer

Ingredients
  

  • 1 bunch Spinach/palak cleaned, washed and drained
  • 50 g Paneer cut in cubes
  • 1 1/2 tbsp Butter
  • 1 no Onion chopped
  • 2 nos Bay leaves Karuga ela
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds Jeerakam
  • 1/4 tsp Black pepper powder
  • Ginger garlic paste – 1/2 tsp
  • 1/2 tsp Green chilli paste
  • 1/2 tsp Garam masala powder
  • Salt As reqd

Instructions
 

  • For preparing spinach/palak paneer, first mix spinach leaves with ginger-garlic paste, green chilly paste and some water.
  • Cook the spinach mixture in a pressure cooker for 5 minutes.
  • Blend the spinach paste in a blender to make a thick paste. Keep this aside.
  • Heat butter in a pan and deep fry the paneer cubes till golden brown in color.
  • In the remaining butter, splutter cumin seeds and fry bay leaves.
  • Add chopped onion and fry for a few minutes.
  • Stir in pepper powder, garam masala and required salt.
  • Add fried paneer cubes and spinach paste.
  • Stir in low heat for a few minutes and remove from fire. Spinach/palak paneer, a yummy North Indian dish, is ready.
  • Serve spinach/palak paneer hot with rotis.
