Ingredients
  

For preparing pakoras:

  • 1/2 cup Gram flour Kadala Mavu/Besan
  • 1/4 cup Potato chopped
  • 1/4 cup Onion chopped
  • 1/2 tsp Carom seeds Ayamodakam
  • 1/2 tsp Ginger chopped
  • 1/2 tsp Red chilly powder
  • 1/4 tsp Baking powder
  • Oil For deep frying
  • Salt As reqd

For preparing Kadhi:

  • 1/2 cup Curd/yogurt
  • 1 no Dry red chilly
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp Gram flour/Besan Kadala mavu
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp Fenugreek seeds Uluva
  • Asafoetida A pinch, Kayam
  • Oil As reqd
  • Salt As reqd

Instructions
 

  • For preparing punjabi style kadhi recipe, mix ingredients for preparing pakoras: Gram flour, potato, onion, carom seeds. ginger, little water and required salt.
  • Mix well and make small balls with the entire thick batter.
  • Heat oil in a kadhai and fry pakoras to a golden brown color.
  • For preparing kadhi, first beat yogurt and mix gram flour in it. Take care so that no lumps are formed.
  • Add turmeric powder, required salt and 1 1/2 cup water. Keep this aside.
  • Heat oil in a frying pan and splutter fenugreek seeds. Add red chilly and stir for a few seconds.
  • Add yogurt mixture and simmer for 10 minutes
  • Add red chily and fried pakors. Simmer in low flame for 10 minutes.
  • Delicious punjabi style kadhi recipe is ready. Serve hot with steamed rice or chappatis.
