Ingredients
For preparing pakoras:
- Gram flour(Kadala Mavu/Besan) - 1/2 cup
- Potato(chopped) - 1/4 cup
- Onion(chopped) - 1/4 cup
- Carom seeds(Ayamodakam) - 1/2 tsp
- Ginger(chopped) - 1/2 tsp
- Red chilly powder - 1/2 tsp
- Baking powder - 1/4 tsp
- Oil(For deep frying) -
- Salt(As reqd) -
For preparing Kadhi:
- Curd/Yogurt - 1/2 cup
- Dry red chilly - 1 no
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
- Gram flour/Besan(Kadala mavu) - 1 tbsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
- Fenugreek seeds(Uluva) - 1/2 tsp
- Asafoetida(A pinch, Kayam) -
- Oil(As reqd) -

Instructions
- Mix well and make small balls with the entire thick batter.
- Heat oil in a kadhai and fry pakoras to a golden brown color.
- For preparing kadhi, first beat yogurt and mix gram flour in it. Take care so that no lumps are formed.
- Add turmeric powder, required salt and 1 1/2 cup water. Keep this aside.
- Heat oil in a frying pan and splutter fenugreek seeds. Add red chilly and stir for a few seconds.
- Add yogurt mixture and simmer for 10 minutes
- Add red chily and fried pakors. Simmer in low flame for 10 minutes.
- Delicious punjabi style kadhi recipe is ready. Serve hot with steamed rice or chappatis.
