Tandoori Pomfret
Pomfret fish marinated in a mixture of lime juice, chilly powder, curd, other ingredients and cooked in a grill

- 250 g Fish washed and drained, Pomfret/Avoli
- 1 tsp Red chilly powder
- 1/2 tsp Garam masala
- 1/2 a Lemon juice
- Tandoori color A pinch, optional
- 1/2 cup Curd thick
- 1 tbsp Gram flour Kadala mavu
- 1 tsp Ginger paste
- 1 tsp Garlic paste
- Chat masala A pinch
- Oil For brushing
- Salt As reqd
For preparing tandoori pomfret, first make deep incisions on both sides of the fish.
Rub the pomfret with a mixture of red chilly powder, garam masala, lemon juice, tandoori color(optional) and keep aside for 20 minutes.
Mix together curd, gram flour, ginger paste, garlic paste, chat masala, required salt and stir in marinated prawns.
Cover and refrigerate the prawns for 3 hours.
Place the marinated pomfret in a grill rack and cook for 10 minutes to drain off excess marinade.
Brush the fish with oil and cook again for 15 minutes until golden brown in color.
Tandoori pomfret, a yummy mouth watering recipe, is ready. Serve hot with lemon and onion slices.
