Kashmiri Style Butter Chicken

Ingredients
  

  • 1 kg Chicken
  • 2 nos Onions finely sliced
  • 1 pack Tomato puree
  • 1 cup Curd
  • Butter As reqd
  • 1 tbsp Coriander powder
  • 1 tbsp Turmeric powder
  • 2 tbsp Garlic paste
  • 2 tbsp Ginger Paste
  • 4 nos Green Chillies chopped
  • 1/2 tbsp Chicken masala
  • 1 tbsp Red chilly powder
  • 1/2 tbsp Cumin seed powder Jeera Powder
  • 2 tbsp Lemon juice
  • Coriander leaves chopped
  • Salt As reqd

Instructions
 

  • Mix together curd, turmeric powder, salt, jeera powder and lemon juice. Coat the paste on the chicken pieces and keep aside for marination(1 1/2 hrs).
  • Heat oil in a pan and fry the marinated chicken till browned.
  • Keep fried chicken pieces aside.
  • Heat Butter in a pan.
  • Saute onions and fry till it turns brown.
  • Pour tomato puree and saute until butter comes out of it and the paste is fully cooked.
  • Mix together coriander powder, garlic, ginger, turmeric, red chilly powder, chicken masala, green chillies and required salt. Add this to the tomato puree mixture and fry well.
  • Add fried chicken pieces and add little water.
  • Put some coriander leaves and cover the pan for about 10 minutes on a slow heat.
  • Serve with rice or roti.
