Kashmiri Style Butter Chicken
Ingredients
- 1 kg Chicken
- 2 nos Onions finely sliced
- 1 pack Tomato puree
- 1 cup Curd
- Butter As reqd
- 1 tbsp Coriander powder
- 1 tbsp Turmeric powder
- 2 tbsp Garlic paste
- 2 tbsp Ginger Paste
- 4 nos Green Chillies chopped
- 1/2 tbsp Chicken masala
- 1 tbsp Red chilly powder
- 1/2 tbsp Cumin seed powder Jeera Powder
- 2 tbsp Lemon juice
- Coriander leaves chopped
- Salt As reqd
Instructions
- Mix together curd, turmeric powder, salt, jeera powder and lemon juice. Coat the paste on the chicken pieces and keep aside for marination(1 1/2 hrs).
- Heat oil in a pan and fry the marinated chicken till browned.
- Keep fried chicken pieces aside.
- Heat Butter in a pan.
- Saute onions and fry till it turns brown.
- Pour tomato puree and saute until butter comes out of it and the paste is fully cooked.
- Mix together coriander powder, garlic, ginger, turmeric, red chilly powder, chicken masala, green chillies and required salt. Add this to the tomato puree mixture and fry well.
- Add fried chicken pieces and add little water.
- Put some coriander leaves and cover the pan for about 10 minutes on a slow heat.
- Serve with rice or roti.
