Fish Masala In Coconut Milk

Ingredients
  

  • 500 g Fish even sized pieces, Any fleshy fish
  • 4 nos Onion finely sliced
  • 3 cloves Garlic crushed
  • 1/2 tsp Fennel seeds powdered, Perinjeerakam
  • 1 no Tomato chopped
  • 3 nos Green chillies slit
  • 1/4 tsp Pepper powder
  • 1 tbsp Chilly powder
  • 1/2 tbsp Coriander powder
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • Coconut milk Of half a coconut
  • Curry leaves Few
  • 1 cup Water
  • Oil As reqd
  • Salt As reqd

Instructions
 

  • For preparing fish masala in coconut milk, first heat oil in a pan and fry sliced onions.
  • Add crushed garlic, green chillies, curry leaves and saute for a few seconds.
  • Add turmeric powder, chilly powder, coriander powder, fennel seed powder and fry in low flame.
  • When a frying smell comes, add chopped tomatoes and fry well.
  • Add 1 cup water and required salt. Bring the fish curry to a boil and add the fish pieces.
  • Cook in low flame with a covered lid till the fish pieces are done.
  • When the gravy has acquired a thick consistency, add pepper powder and coconut milk.
  • Stir slowly and heat in low heat. Remove the vessel from flame before boiling starts.
  • Fish masala in coconut milk, a yummy recipe, is ready.
