Fried Sardine Vindaloo Masala

Sardines deep fried after coating with vindaloo masala

Ingredients
  

  • 10 nos Sardine Mathi/Chaala
  • All purpose flour Little, Maida
  • Oil As reqd for frying

To be ground for vindaloo masala:

  • 7 nos Dry red chillies
  • 3 nos Shallots Kunjulli
  • 1/4 tsp Cumin seeds Jeerakam
  • 1/4 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic
  • Tamarind Little, Puli
  • 1/2 dsp Vinegar
  • Salt As reqd

Instructions
 

  • Clean and wash the sardines. Drain well and make small gashes on both sides of the fish.
  • Grind the ingredients for vindaloo masala with vinegar to a fine paste.
  • Rub the vindaloo masala on both sides of the fish.
  • Sprinkle some maida on top of the sardines. Keep them aside for a few minutes.
  • Take a pan and pour sufficient oil for deep frying. Fry the sardines on both sides until crisp and brown.
  • Yummy fried sardine vindaloo masala is ready and serve hot.
