Mutton Curry Recipe Easy

Yummy!! mutton cooked in coconut milk

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 kg Mutton
  • 1 cup Thin coconut milk
  • 1/2 cup Thick coconut milk
  • For marination
  • 1 tsp Chilly powder
  • 1 tbsp Coriander powder
  • 1 tsp Garam masala powder
  • 1 tsp Black pepper powder
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Lemon juice
  • 1 tsp Ginger
  • 1 tsp Garlic
  • 3 nos Onion
  • 5 nos Shallots optional
  • 2 nos Tomato
  • 2 stems Curry leaves
  • 2 tbsp Cooking Oil

Instructions
 

  • Marinate cleaned mutton pieces with all the powders and lemon juice for 2 hrs.
  • Add cooking oil to a thick-bottomed vessel and saute onions, green chillies and curry leaves, followed by ginger and garlic.
  • When it is nicely done, add mutton pieces, tomato and stir well.
  • When it starts to boil, add the thin coconut milk , required amount of salt and let boil.
  • Keep stirring in between, till mutton pieces get cooked well.
  • Add the thick coconut milk and switch off the flame before it starts to boil.
  • Check the amount of salt, you can add 1/2 tsp pepper powder at the end for an added flavour.
  • :-Can also be pressure cooked in thin coconut milk, remove from flame, add thick coconut milk and heat again.
