Naan Bread

Home made indian naan bread

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups All Purpose flour
  • 1 tsp Active dry yeast
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • Baking soda a pinch
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 2 1/2 tbsp Yogurt
  • 3/4 cup Warm water
  • 1 tsp Clear butter or ghee to butter the Naan
  • 1/4 cup All Purpose flour for rolling

Instructions
 

  • Mix the all purpose flour, salt, baking soda, yogurt in a bowl.
  • In another tumbler, put sugar, yeast, warm water and wait for 5 minutes.
  • Put the above 2 items in to the bowl and mix the dough using a wooden spoon. :- Use oil to make it smooth.
  • Cover the dough and keep it for 2 hours. :- At that time the dough will be double in its size and it will be very soft.
  • Make lemon sized dough and roll it to oval shape :-Do not make it too thin.
  • Arrange it in cookie sheet.
  • Preheat oven to 500F and put it in high broil.
  • Place the cookie sheet inside for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • After taking from the oven, apply butter on the top of the naan.
  • :- Serve hot!!!
