Kerala Creamy Chicken With Coconut Cream

A delicious chicken curry made with coconut cream

Ingredients
  

  • 1 kg Chicken preferably with bones
  • 2 nos Onion thinly cut, medium size
  • 2 nos Tomato chopped
  • 1 tbsp Ginger garlic paste
  • 2-3 nos Green chillies
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1 tsp Garam masala powder
  • 1 tbsp Chilli powder
  • 1 tin Coconut cream
  • Salt to taste

Instructions
 

  • Heat oil in a pan and fry the onions till golden brown.
  • Add ginger-garlic paste and saute for about 1-2 minutes.
  • Add green chillies and fry for 1 minutes.
  • Add turmeric powder, coriander powder and garam masala and fry for a minute.
  • Add chilli powder and mix for about 10-20 sec and add the choppped tomatoes.
  • Fry the tomatoes till oil leaves the sides and then add salt.
  • Add the washed chicken pieces and fry for 5 mins.
  • Once the chicken pieces are nicely coated in the masala, add the coconut cream and a little water if necessary.
  • Cover and cook or pressure cook it till the chicken is tender.
  • Hints:- :- Can add green chillies and chilly powder as per need.
  • :- Can marinate chicken in salt, turmeric powder and ginger-garlic paste for a few hours to tenderize.
  • :- Add more coconut cream if more gravy is desired.
